¹û¶³ÊÓƵ MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Based on: ARTICLES of INCORPORATION and BY – LAWS OF THE PHILIPPINE ASSOCIATION OF THORACIC, CARDIAC and VASCULAR SURGEONS (¹û¶³ÊÓƵ), INCORPORATED

ARTICLE III: Membership
Section II. Qualification of Candidates

There shall be three (3) Classes of Candidates for surgeons not yet qualified to be Fellows but are actively engaged in the practice of thoracic and cardiovascular surgery:

1. DIPLOMATES

Ìý Ìý 1.1. He must be a surgeon certified by the Philippine Board of Thoracic, Cardiac and Vascular Surgery, Inc.Ìý (PBTCVS)

Ìý Ìý 1.2. To qualify for active membership, he must have actively participated in the ¹û¶³ÊÓƵ annual convention and postgraduate course and at least fifty percent (50%) of ¹û¶³ÊÓƵ scientific meetings, surgical mission or any equivalent activities related to the thoracic, cardiac and vascular surgery specialty one (1) year following the induction.

1.3.Ìý Failure to apply as an active member within three (3) years from certification as DiplomateÌý requires valid justification to be submitted and reviewed by the Board.

Ìý Ìý1.4.ÌýNotification of non – membership to surgical specialty will be disseminated to appropriate regulatory agencies.

2. GRADUATES

Ìý Ìý Ìý2.1. He must have completed three (3) years of an accredited training program in thoracic, cardiac and vascular surgery of the ¹û¶³ÊÓƵ

Ìý Ìý 2.2. He must be eligible to take the certifying examination of the Philippine Board of Thoracic, Cardiac and Vascular Surgery, Inc. (PBTCVS)

3. TRAINEES

Ìý Ìý 3.1. He must be a fellow-in- training of an accredited thoracic, cardiac and vascular surgery training program of ¹û¶³ÊÓƵ.
